The festival will host several top ranking brass ensembles. International Trumpet Guild Journal calls Spanish Brass "one of the most exciting and artistic brass quintets to come on the scene in recent years... a gloriously brilliant performance." Diane Wright with The Herald in Everett, Washington says of Proteus 7 that "these young musicians have an ease of playing and a genuine respect that makes you realize how vital it is for young people to see such groups." Gary Barrow of the ITG Journal writes of Sonus Brass, "sounds as tight as any brass quintet around!…consistently strong performances and energetic spirit…an exemplar in the fundamentals of quality ensemble playing." Bieler Tagblatt of Switzerland says of Øystein Baadsvik that his "playing is distinguished by a slim, noble tone, absolute technical security and a perfect intonation.
*Spanish Brass, Proteus 7 and Sonus Brass will be providing workshops as well as concerts.
