UV = laquer damage?

Will continued exposure to sunlight affect the laquer finish on a tuba?

My Reynolds eefer sits in a stand near a window and if I open the blinds it gets a few hours of direct sun in the mornings. It is simply the best place logistically for it in the studio but if it is doing it harm I can find another spot for it. I could leave the blinds shut but the light is helpful, the passive solar economical, and the view nice.

Although modern lacquers are more UV-stable than some of the old stuff..... it's never a good idea to expose lacquered, painted, or dyed finishes to prolonged UV. If you like the location, just toss a sheet over the horn.

Thanks Dan! The Reynolds is dates from '59 so I doubt it even has the "modern" laquer. A sheet it is! Thanks again for the advice!
