G&W Carbonaria euph mp
Just thought I'd share my experience with my euph mp search.Since I got my 321 euph last summer I've been using a 51d but never really bonded with it.I couldn't do anything below low f and even it wasn't great.I just figured I needed to practice more.Well, PFFFTTTT! I knew I knew better than that
My student and I have been trying mp's lately and we tried a few.G&W Carbonaria & S1,Bach 3g,5g,Schilke 51d.My student was coming from a 6.5al and I was on a 51d.The Carbonaria absolutely rocked our yammie 321's!Much darker, richer sound and no sweat all the way on down to the pedal register.I top out around high c or d,and there was no change with the new piece.I feel like I will be satisfied with my 321 for longer(hopefully forever)now because of the new piece.I only play in lessons,so my needs may be different than most of you.If you really want to maximize the potential of a 321,I suggest the G&W Carbonaria.(keep in mind this advice is coming from a tuba player)
