The Harvey Phillips North West Big Brass bash is starting today, centered around Bellvue, WA and Mercer Island, WA, through the week end, finishing with a concert at 3 PM Sunday on Mercer Island, as part of their civic celebration. To register, see Sam Blumenthal at the Silver Cloud - Eastgate, in Bellvue, between 3 and 6 PM, today. This a three day gathering of Tubists from all over the Northwestern US and Southwestern Canada. There are practice sessions on Saturday and Sunday, a recital on Saturday evening and clinics. Among the clinicians this year is Eugene Dowling, from Victoria, BC (CD: The English Tuba).
Always make a good sound; audiences will forget if you miss a note but making a good sound will get you the next job.
