The vast majority of traffic between hornplayers is on 2 mailing lists:

http://music2.memphis.edu/mailman/listinfo/horn" target="_blank" target="_blank
both have a fair amount of traffic (one to two dozen mails a day each) and some reasonably high-profile members.
The yahoo group is the slightly more civil one, its founder David Thompson will step in if things get out of hand.
The memphis one has no moderation, so the occasional flame war will rage (which for some has it's own entertainment value)

The various forums that are around have very little traffic, sometimes it takes weeks for another post to be made.
