Help me out tuba brothers and sisters!
My band Squeeze-bot is in a contest to play at the Chicago Bluegrass and Blues Festival. Our acceptance is contingent on fanbase support. This is where I'm hoping you'll all come in and help me out! In order to win we need our fans to go here:
http://cbgbfestival.com/contest
- Click on Squeeze-bot (we're currently in 1st place, but we need your help to keep going strong)
- Click VOTE FOR THIS ARTIST
- Enter your email address.... click send
- Check that email address and click the link (very important or the vote doesn't count
- That's it! It takes about 30 seconds
- You can vote once a day, every day, until October 17
Still not convinced?
I knew it wouldn't be that easy.
Okay.
Let me tell you a little about us and give you some links!
Squeeze-bot is a jazz/bluegrass hybrid quartet in Louisville, Kentucky featuring Todd Hildreth on Accordian, Mick Sullivan on Banjo, Meg Samples on a tiny red drum-set, and me Brandon Johnson on tuba. We just released a CD and I encourage you to check it out here: http://cdbaby.com/cd/squeezebot. If you're a MySpacer you should become friendly with us here: http://www.myspace.com/squeezebot.
Since this is a tuba forum I drop a quick blurb about who I am. As I said, my name is Brandon Johnson. I was very fortunate to study with Dr. Skip Gray at the University of Kentucky and recieve a B.A. from that fine establishment. After finishing my degree I took some time off the tuba, landed in a dismal job, and re-discovered my calling as a musician. I'm now at the University of Louisville studying with John Jones in pursuit of a Master's degree and hopefully shattering the perception of the tuba to the common folk with this band and some future projects. Help us out, won't you?
Check out our music and if you like it, vote. That's all I ask.

Thanks and let's keep gettin' low!

I voted, Brandon, and I really enjoyed the music samples you linked.
That sounds like a really fun group to play in, and everybody sounds top-notch!
Improvising banjo and accordion on jazz standards...who would have thought?

Just a reminder that you can vote every day until October 17. We're currently in the lead, but anything can happen in the next five days! If you could take 20 seconds and vote it would be greatly appreciated.
