New (at least to me) CD

Post by ASTuba »

Hi everyone,

At work at the library this morning, I went to listen to some music off of the Naxos streamed service we have here at Eastman. I discovered a recording of the Vaughan Williams Tuba Concerto with Walter Hilgers as the soloist with the Frankfurt Brandenburg Symphony. I thought I'd pass it on to you, and if anyone knows where one might be able to order a copy of this CD. The Naxos catalogue # is GEN86064. Hope this helps someone!

If you Google the catalog number, you get a ton of places where it's available. The first US one is about 5 down from the top; it's $15.99 from Premiere Music.

The Hilgers recording has actually been out for some while. I have posted about it here in the past.

It is a very good rendition of the RVW concerto and well worth getting.
