NEW TUBA-EUPHONIUM Social Networking Site!

Hey tuba and euphers! During the Seattle Tuba-Euphonium Conference last month, one of the vendors, a local repair technician named Greg Wilson announced that he was beta-testing a new tuba-euphonium social networking site. I must admit that I am not much into facebook type sites, but I reluctantly agreed to try this one out and help him beta-test it. Well, I am pleased to announce that it is pretty darn cool and very user friendly. So much so that even a computer knuckle head like me can figure out how to post music and pictures with relative ease.

Some of you may remember I posted a while back asking for guinea pigs for a special area 51 project. Well I got some folks to sign-up and beta test the site and it looks like it is now up and running. So, come and check it out. I am in no way associated with the site designer beyond knowing him as an all-around great guy and local repair technician who also plays tuba. That's my way of saying there is no money changing hands here or anything of the type beyond trying to help him get this off the ground. It is a very cool site and I hope to see a bunch of you tubenetters start poking around on it!

Finally, I do not think the goal of this new site is to compete with or supplant the TUBENET. The goals and uses of this new site are quite different and if anything, I think would compliment the TUBENET. TUBENET has been around for so long and provided so many great resources to players of all ages and abilities that it is not going anywhere. The new Tuba-Euphonium Network is merely another way to waste valuable practice time in front of the computer..hahaha!
