Too bad I'm on the other Coast. This sounds like fun. I've never hard this kind of music before and it sounds like an expert is scheduled to appear....

After looking at the Nat. Geo. page, I see this type of music would be a good excuse to buy an oval baritone or euph. I notice they were using rotary trumpets also.

I have noticed a surprising bit of reluctance to non "mainstream" tuba playing on this list (and the TubaEuph list) but you might have better luck contacting potential participants on the Streetband and Balkan Brass Yahoo Groups:

I too am on the wrong coast for this one - but there is a lot of interest around the SF Bay Area, also Portland and Seattle, so maybe you should send a team of teachers! There is an annual Balkan music camp http://www.eefc.org/site/ but it is not specifically brass oriented (and it usually sells out quickly!) There also was this -http://balkantunes.org/kolofestival/ don't know if it will happen again.
