Hi there, I have just stumbled across a rather nice recording on the CBS label of Enigma Variations conducted by Barenboim played by the London Philharmonic. I believe it was recorded in the early 70's. Any idea who the tuba player was at this time?
All the best,
TP

I believe it may have been Paul Lawrence.

Wow, that is a small world! As a youngish player I had never met Paul Lawrence although my teacher whilst I was at college, David Gordon-Shute was taught by him as a youngster. Do you know of any recordings that are worth listening to with him as tubist?
