Nirschl

Post by Alex C »

Apparently the Nirschl BBb tuba is going to be available soon. Here's a link to it on Richard Barth's (Gemstone Brass President) blog.

A reasonable list price, too. Definitely worth BBb players' consideration.

I played the prototype of this instrument a couple of years back and it is definitely a winner. Wonderful sound and an all around joy to play. It is my understanding that a 5 valve CC version of this horn will be available after the first of the year. I am definitely looking forward to this!

All of the W. Nirschl horns are very well built and play great. I have several students playing the I-800 compensating euphonium and are quite happy with the instruments.

I was surprised to hear that they were going to market a CC version of this instrument as well; it would at least be in the category of the Besson CC. Walter Nirschl is very involved with the production (as the blog pictures show). If it's anything like the BBb, it will make an impact in the tuba buying market.
