Hi Harv, this one looks great!
But Harv, is there some gender fighting going on in your home?
I can only tell from the photo, but it looks like you were forced preparing a sousaphone for doing the laundry. But then it looks like you fought back by putting some iron balls on the table.
All the best
Klaus

Re: Copper colored Lacquer 20K
Which were the patterns for older US brassmakers and their use of dye in their lacquer?
I have 3 trombones from King and Conn, all with gold brass bells. They do not look like their lacquer was dyed. However I remember buying a spray can of King lacquer maybe 30 years ago for some touch up work on a yellow brass King trombone. As I remember it that lacquer was dyed. Still yellow, but more intense than polished raw brass.
I have a Bach trombone, where the lacquer appears to be clear, as the colour has a slight green tint to the yellow, which I guess is the colour of the brass alloy.
On my York Master BBb (which isn’t really American) the lacquer appears to be slightly more reddish than the brass itself.
