After some cursory research (mostly asking some published ragtime, novelty, and jazz collector/discographers and looking in my own reference books) I think they were all "session men" and because of the very lax studio practices of the day, no one was likely to have written down the names of the musicians - they certainly were not famous.
If it could actually be determined where the bands recorded (New York or LA, most likely) it might be possible to check union lists, but it would be a very hard thing to do. Most often these musicians were paid in cash per recording session and that was the end of it. It has happened to me a few times... not that I was ever expecting to get any residuals
Your only hope of learning anything more about those musicians is if you happen to hear from somebody who was actually there (and remembers who else was in the session,) or someone who is related to them. 50 years or so later, it is less and less likely...
