Headed out to pick up my free 4Gb Sd card at Micro Center. I noticed on the flyer that Sandisk now sells a 64Gb SD card for pro cameras. Thinking back, I remember in 1983 replacing the 32Kb tape storage memory on my Radio Shack computer with a 64Kb tape and convincing my wife that we needed to spend that money to lauch ourselves into the new era. Won't be long till hard drives are history and we are all using multiple terabites of flash memory.

I was 34 years old when I saw my first computer. Of course up to that time I lived a sheltered life in Arkansas. Now I spend 8 or 9 hours a day using one to make a living and I post here during the periods that I wait for other people to respond to me. I probably spend an average of 10 to 11 hours day looking at a screen. What an exciting life I have!

Well, I missed the punch card part of programming, but I do remember using a TTY (ASR-37) to make patches to programs. The FAA computer I worked on had core memory then. I think it was called 980 core... which meant it took .980 usecs to read and re-write the bit. Gosh that's really slow by today's standards.
