Looking at the BBC site, I understand that the "/2" is the handmade designation whereas just "6450" is the production model version, but they have two models of the Handmade Baer tuba listed (6450/2 and 6450/2S) - with the explanation that the 2S is SILVERPLATED and a price difference between it and its 6450/2 counterpart ($1000 between the two). I was under the impression that all of these horns come in silverplate. Maybe someone could enlighten me on this?
I understand that picking up the phone and calling them would be the best idea, but it's Sunday.
Thanks,
Chris

If you want a lacquer one I'm sure that any of the dealers will get one for you, but when I was shopping last year all of the ones that I tried were silver.

Ah, that explains that. I wasn't aware that these horns were even offered in lacquer, now I know. Thanks for explaining.
