I would like to let everyone know that there was a tuba stolen at ITEC this year.
It is a Silver Walter Nirschl WN-15 4/4 5V CC. The pearl valve cap coverings are missing on the 2nd 3rd and 4th valves. It was sold by Custom Music so it has the words "Parantucci Mod" engraved on the bell. There are some dents on the bottom bow, and also some scratches from previous dent repair. The last 3 digits of the serial number are 078. It was stolen with a Sterling gig bag with the "Tuba World" patch sewn on it also.
If anyone has seen this in any pawn shops, repair shops, craig's list postings, or anywhere else, please pm me. I will do everything I can to reward anyone who is able to help me find this, with no questions asked. This was a huge investment, so I'll try to reward nicely.
Thanks

That is the crappiest crap news I've heard in a long time. Any better details about what day/time/location it was stolen from?
Keeping my fingers crossed for you. That's a hell of a nice tuba.

I use http://www.craiglook.com to search all of Craigslist at once. Maybe that will help with that aspect.

Many sympathies
Who'd have the heart to steal a Nirschl?
Hope your horn winds up back in your hands.
I vote this thread gets stickied.

Some dirty buttwipe walked off with a new Miraphone 282 from Matt's booth at TUSABTEC in 2008. I'm sure Matt and the other Dillon staff have tightened their security measures at the shows they attend. I wonder if the "Tuba World" identifier on the Sterling gig bags could be eye catching enough to increase the risk of theft? I have one of these for my PT-20P and the none of my vehicles have trunks large enough to hold the bagged horn. I am squeamish about leaving it visible on the back seat of my car. If I am traveling with the horn, I always park so I can observe the car from the restaurant interior. I sincerely hope you recover your horn in good shape and hope that the walking manure heap that stole it gets the appropriate justice.
