For the Giddings and Webster mouthpiece models Diablo and Williwaw,
which one is brighter/clearer?
By the specs and descriptions, I'd guess the Diablo. Has anyone compared them side by side?

I have compared them side-by-side.
First a disclaimer: I've tried most of the G&W pieces, and the Williwaw was about the only one that just plain didn't work for me. It just didn't feel right, and I'm not exactly sure why.
That said, the sounds that I did get out of the Williwaw all seemed kind of soft--not low in volume, but sort of unfocused or fuzzy.
I really like the Diablo--much sharper (not in pitch, but in tone), clearer, cleaner--easier to play. The Diablo and Taku are very close in every way. I think the only difference is in the slightly larger backbore of the Taku, which is the one I kept and use more than any other.

I use a taku for most of my playing, and love it. I feel that I get an efficient buzz with the taku (ie less "garbage" than with my other mouthpieces), perhaps that is what you mean by sharp and clean. But at the same time the sound I get coupled with my Conn is a fairly enveloping sound with a strong center, a sound I wouldn't call "bright" as the op is looking for. What horn(s) did you try out the G&W's with Circusboy?

Yes, I think that is what I mean by sharp and clean. And your description of a "fairly enveloping sound with a strong center" is better than mine. I found that it worked well for me on all but the Piggy, which for me wanted something with a smaller backbore, and the Lidl, for which it just seemed too big.
