B&S JBL F tuba flight case

Post by clagar777 »

I need to buy a flight case for my JBL and would like to know what options I have. Has anyone used a particular case that has worked really well?

Thanks

My MW 45 flight case fits the JBL well. However, it's a real bear to drag around.

The Jacob Winter case is quite nice, and much lighter/easier to drag around.

Miraphone makes a case for the F tuba which is also quite nice. I think it's a 181 case, but the JBL fits it very well. I borrowed one of these cases, and flew with the case abroad. Not a scratch on the tuba, or the case. AND.. it wasn't over-sized or overweight!

Of course, you could always buy a Walt Johnson case, too.

Lots of options out there... The most important thing to me, (aside from protection, which is paramount) was making it not over-sized, or overweight. Those baggage fees add up quickly! Before you know it, you're paying more for baggage than your ticket!

I just bought a new Jacob Winter hard case for my PT-16

The model number is:

VMM 2089/3099.

This case has the BBflat 4/4 plastic shell, but the inside fit a B&S F tuba, so there is enough space from the tuba to the outside of the case,
I used it on my last trip and the tuba was safe...and no extra money
