Craig Knox Recital 2/24

Post by Craig Knox »

Dear Friends,

I want to let you all know that I will be performing a faculty recital at Carnegie Mellon University on Thursday February 24 at 8PM in the Kresge Theater of the School of Music, College of Fine Arts. Admission is free. I'm very excited to announce that the program will include two world-premiere performances. Wind Cave is a work for unaccompanied tuba composed for me by David Stock, whose works have been performed by the New York Philharmonic, Seattle and Pittsburgh Symphonies, among many others. In addition, I will present the first performance of Anthony DiLorenzo's three-movement sonata for tuba and piano. Tony and I have known each other for almost 30 years, and he has become well-known for his compositions for brass, including his compositions and arrangements for the Center City Brass Quintet, and commissions by Scott Hartman, William Vermeulen, Adam Frey, and the Dallas Symphony Brass Quintet.

Program:
Verdi/Krzywicki Prelude from I MasnadieriDiLorenzo Sonata (World-Premiere)
Stock Wind Cave (World-Premiere)
Plog Three Miniatures
Strobel Dans Profundo

Information and links are available on my website: http://www.CraigKnoxTuba.com.

I hope you may be able to make it.
