Nice program. I hope your concert went splendidly.
I'll never forget my only trip to Saskatoon. A number of years ago I was engaged to sing the bass solos in two performances of Handel's Messiah. It was shortly before Christmas. There was a lot of snow on the ground, but ice was melting in the river. From the grand old hotel where they put me up, I could see and hear chunks of ice the size of VW Beatles crashing down stream. BTW, the orchestra and chorus were excellent. I still wear my Saskatoon Symphony sweatshirt with pride.

Yes the concert went very well. The only piece that had issues was Romeo and Juliet and they were small. The crowd was much less than we expected, however this city has many different musical/artistic groups and we were competing with several other events. Interesting to hear that you have been in our city. The hotel that you stayed at is the Bessborough. It was named after the Earl of Bessborough and is a copy of the grand chateaus in the Loire Valley. It was built over a three year time frame starting in 1930 and not opening until 1935 as Saskatchewan along with the rest of North America suffered through the Great Depression. You will be happy to know that the danger of falling ice remains. The entire front of the hotel except for one entrance is marked off with tape to keep people away from the perimeter of the building. The temperature today, plus three degrees celcius, hence the tape!!
