Seems odd to me that the 2nd paddle is longer. Recon this setup operates from the opposite side?

Hmmm ...
  • 4 -> no
    rotor -> no
    "cluster" -> afraid to ask (hoping for "no")

I always thought sellers tried to give more, not less than stated. (a bakers dozen).

He does however have 30 sets available.....

This linkage will most likely only work on the tuba that it was taken from.

Anyone who has tried to match linkages that were not made for each other will know the amount of time it will take to adapt this set to another tuba. If the levers are not the perfect distance and directly in-line with the valve stop arm then these levers will not work.

Good luck to anyone who has the time to do this.

It seems to me that there weren't very many makers that used adjustable-tension clocksprings...
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Well... this 'thing' certainly isn't for a four-valved tuba. Probably not even for a tuba at all. Most likely it's for a baritone or euphonium.

Curiosity got me so I emailed the seller. I mainly would like to know how they came upon THIRTY of them!

Having thirty sets seems like a real mystery. Let us know what you find out.

Very handy. My colleague have an old Kruspe F with that type of mechanism. However, there seems not to be that much of a difference when adjusted...

I heard back from Leisuretime Music saying the ad is 'fixed'.

I see that it is now only one paddle assembly and it's changed from tuba to baritone horn.

I still don't quite understand the longer 2nd paddle.

They're still calling it a "valve cluster" -- don't see any valves ... :?:

(maybe the vet needs to come back and finish "fixing" the ad?)
