Just thought I'd give this a bump to the top to gain more interest. Aside from what you may remember of James, he's a very solid and enthusiastic tubist and deserves to be heard. Based on the repertoire alone this looks to be a very promising concert. If I could legitimately justify the 36 hour round trip I'd go. If you're in the Oxford, OH area you should check this out and support this up-and-coming musician!

Hey TubeNetters,

I second Casey's post. James is a very outstanding and wonderful musician, despite what some people know him as on this board. He has come a long way, and has done wonderful things in the music world. If you want to hear some really good music, and you're in the Oxford, OH area, come to his recital.

Anyone else notice that Capriccio for Solo tuba by Krzysztof Penderecki makes it onto a ton of graduate recitals at the Master's level? From the audition tapes I've heard, it also seems to be a popular piece for auditioning for grad school. I don't really have a point here, I just felt compelled to mention this.
