PT50+ vs. PT88+

What is the big difference playing wise between the PT50+ and the PT88+? I've been reading up on them and I know the 50 is supposed to have a little bit deeper cup but the 88 is supposed to be wider. I can't really to either of them to play them so I was wondering if anyone has played on them and what does each have to offer and what are their set backs. Thanks

I have played both for long periods of time and many people love the 50 . The 88 is bigger and has an even more rounded rim. I liked it better but I also have huge lips. The 88 gave me a bigger sound that was also not very focused. which is why I now play on a G&W MMVI Alan Baer mouthpiece. If you can't try one of the two then custom tubas may let you send it back if you don't like it.
If your used to a smaller mouthpiece go for the 50.

Both mouthpieces can give you a big sound with the PT50 having the mellow sound and the PT88 having more edge/bite/core.
For me the PT50 is too mellow for my average use. Therefore I will only use it when all performed pieces are "legato"ish.
The PT88 has more bite to the sound which is exactly what I need in average use.

I find the PT50 easier to control, but that will probably vary from person to person.
