Hi,
What instrument is Patrick Harrild playing in this LSO link?
(see third row of the Maurice Murphy photos)

And, at 1'30" in this YouTube clip:

Is he still on this horn, and has he put the EEb away for good?
Brits only please.
Thank you,
Kathott

Re: Patrick Harrild's instrument
I'm no Brit, but I did notice this pic is from 2002. I did see him do the YouTube Symphony stuff on an EEb, which is much more recent..kathott wrote:Hi,

Looks like a Meinl Weston 2165.

Re: Patrick Harrild's instrument
As far as I know Patrick Harrild plays a Besson 982 EEb as his bass tuba and Melton 2165 6/4 CC as his contrabass tuba. I heard he is playing increasing amount of repertoire on the CC as time goes on.
He is certainly no equipment geek, so has probably not changed.

This is the Youtube clip where he plays his EEb Sovereign, posted October 29, 2010, so quite recent. Not quite what you'd expect to be used for Ride of the Valkyries, but his sound is amazing.

I keep coming back to this. It is definitely different, but definitely good.ds wrote:This is the Youtube clip where he plays his EEb Sovereign, posted October 29, 2010, so quite recent. Not quite what you'd expect to be used for Ride of the Valkyries, but his sound is amazing.
