Chris Olka's Sensemaya
On the broadcast of "Seattle Symphony Retrospective" this evening, conductor Gerard Schwarz' spoken comments included a gracious acknowledgement of Chris Olka's tuba solo in Revueltas' Sensemaya. Maestro Schwarz was right--Chris sounded great in the solo passage and with the rest of the brass section/orchestra throughout the piece.
