Hello,
I am a freshmen at Texas State University, and plan to be a Music Education major.
I would like to get a good CC tuba. My old private lesson teacher said his friend is getting ready to sell his Getzen GB-50.
Is this a good horn to get me through college and beyond? Is it a Professional grade tuba?
I did hear that the mid-staff d was difficult to play in tune. Is there a way to correct the issue?
Are there any other suggested horns out there?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Re: Tuba for College
G-50s are nice instruments and would work very well for a college student. Try it out. Have your old or new teacher try it, too.
Oh...
It's not the D inthe staff that was problematic on some of them, it was the D above the staff.

Re: Tuba for College
Funny story...
When I went to email Professor Rodriguez, there was an email sitting in my inbox from him about the same tuba!
So I talked to him about it, then went to go visit the person selling the tuba, who surprisingly lives in my home town, and made the purchase.
Thank you all for the advise.
