Post by Bignick1357 »

I have a Humes and Berg stone lined mute and one of the corks fell off and broke does any one know where can I get replacements?

When I was in high school, the corks disintegrated on my dad's H&B stonelined straight trumpet mute (when I was still playing trumpet in concert band, although marching with a souzy). I went to the local music store where the owner knew my dad and told him what I needed. He sold me some flat cork, and I took it home, took an exacto knife and started cutting thin strips of the proper size, stacking them and gluing them on until I brought it back to the needed thickness. Now, @35 years later, my original repair is still going strong.
