Stolen Tuba - Gronitz PCK CC tuba Recovered

Post by Bove »

UPDATE- Thanks to Buchanan Music in Mesa AZ, the tuba has been recovered.

Stolen Tuba

My name is Charles Kerrigan, and my tuba was stolen in Mesa, AZ on the evening of December 11th 2011. I am including all of the identifying information, as well as the police report number.

Make: Gronitz (from Hamburg Germany)
Model: PCK (I do not believe that is on the instrument)
Mouthpiece: there was a Laskey model 30H mouthpiece with the tuba
Case: The tuba was in a black leather Cronkhite gig bag

Other identifying characteristics:
This tuba is a lacquered brass instrument. I have had some work done to the leadpipe (tube the mouthpiece fits into), and now the lacquer in that area is missing. (Leadpipe is now "off the bell.") Also the area of the tuba where my arm rests while I play the valves has a spot of lacquer missing.

If this tuba shows up in your store, or you have any information that may help,

Please contact the Mesa Police

I also work at Milano Music and can be reached there at 480-827-1111

Please help me recover my stolen Tuba!

Thank You

Chuck Kerrigan

I'd call any and every pawn shop within a 200 mile radius.

When I was in high school one of the tuba players in my section told me his deadbeat uncle took his school Sousaphone (from his Junior High School) and beat it flat with a sledge hammer and sold it for scrap. I hate to say it but with the price of scrap brass and copper as high as it is you may want to alert the local scrap yards as well. I hope I'm wrong.

Well you must remember some people see that as art: http://www.ebay.com/itm/260874928217?ss ... _570wt_825" target="_blank

Another 'stupid criminal'!. I can't believe the idiots who try to sell a tuba in the same neighborhood where they stole it!
