I'm just wondering if anyone has played the Berg Violin Concerto previously or may even have a part to it.
I am performing it Sunday and haven't seen the music yet, so I'm just curious F or CC, etc.
Any thoughts or information would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Berg Violin Concerto
Just to be clear, I'm performing the tuba part with a local orchestra on Sunday.
After posting, I noticed that my original post could be confusing.
Thanks in advance for any input that you may have.

CC, I think, as it has quite a bit of low chorale playing. It's based in large part on a Bach chorale. Count carefully. At one point you take over the bass line on a chorale that begins earlier in the other brass. The end has some long, very quiet and exposed playing with bass trombone that can feel naked. Beautiful, emotional piece despite the 12-tone element.

Not much in the part but there is some exposed playing. I hope you have a good mute too.

I did get to perform this after a 20 minute run through yesterday. Not exactly the type of piece that screams "sight read me!!", but all went well. Interesting piece with some very exposed passages for the Tuba.
