Recommend a practice mute?

Post by manatee »

I have recently moved to a less understanding environment. Are the practice mutes worth $100 plus? Or am I better off putting pillow on top of my bell?
Recommend a brand and/or/model? I have a Mannie Klein bass trombone mute and it does the job, but I bet there is something better.

For cheap, the Humes and Berg stonelined model HB192 for $105.99 or for quality, the Deluxe Stealth Trumcor for about $225 - that one would be my choice.

Your mileage may vary.

Hi,
Do you know if the Deluxe Stealth Trumcor works well on a PT6.
If not what is th best choice for a PT6.
The Silent Brass works OK as a mute, I'm not completely sold on the electronics, but I may be in the market for something new.

The H&B arrived today and even though it boggles the mind that I paid $100 for it, it does what it is supposed to do, surprisingly well. Thanks contributors!
