Does anyone know how these play? I've never had one in the shop.

Hi Dan,
They play a lot like the 1140 with the obvious difference of the valve position. Nice for Jr. High or if you just like the size of a 3/4.

I'm thinking of the day when I get to old and weary to lug my current artillery around!Pappajohn52 wrote:Hi Dan,

Re: King1135?
I always thought that an F tuba based on that design would be awesome. Particularly the small bore size. Of course, I wouldn't condone a cut that big, but a redesign like the Yamaha 621 line? I'd check it out!
My two cents

Re: King1135?
I know what you mean. I wimped out and played a 3/4 King for a few years when I wasn't doing a lot of tuba work, just a small brass ensemble w/ my Canal Fulton band. OK in a pinch for light work. I picked up a nice satin silver 1967 Besson upright 3 V compensating. 3V comp cuts down the weight over a 4V with spot on intonation and great tone.

Thinking about a wheelie bag for my Besson. Any experience with one?

I'll be the one with the differing opinion; I can't stand the sound of these. Yech!
