Baby Eb Sousaphone

Post by TubadudeCA »

Hi All,

Just brought this baby Eb Sousa home from the shop I work at. It was made by Sherman Clay & co. Unfortunately I cannot find any information about who actually made the horn (Assuming it's a stencil) and was hoping some of you might be able to help.

Pictures are here:

The Bell has the Female receiver like the Holton Eb's. But I'm just not sure that's correct. If it is a Holton, then the serial number puts the date of this horn to 1908. Which makes the fact that there are only MINOR pings and scratches even more amazing. Of course, it does have 20 layers of tarnish

Thanks for any information!

The link to your Photobucket page seems to be broken - try making a Tiny URL?

If you take some pictures with a scale (ruler or yardstick) it will be helpful in identifying it.
