I am pleased to announce and inform you of a recent Graduate Assistantship
in Euphonium at the University of Missouri. This is a newly formed
position and would be great opportunity for any euphonium student seeking a
masters degree in performance, education, composition, or conducting.
Duties may include teaching of non-majors, assisting with majors’
instruction, performing in ensembles, help in the formation of a community
based brass band, and supporting the tuba/euphonium studio in a variety of
musical and administrative areas.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Music degree or equivalent. Excellent performance skills with teaching experience preferred.
Award: The Euphonium Graduate Assistantship is a 0.25 load. The current stipend level is approximately $5,100 (.25). In addition to the stipend, which is paid over nine months, tuition for coursework required for the degree is waived during the appointment period. This waiver covers both in-state tuition and nonresident fees, and currently carries an approximate annual value of $5,400 for Missouri residents and $14,000 for out-of-state and international residents. Full-time enrollment is expected unless permission to drop below full-time is granted by the Director of the School of Music.
Application and Deadline: March 1, 2013 is the deadline for completion of Graduate Assistantship application and receipt of letters of recommendation, although late applications may be considered.
