Carol Jantsch, Principal Tuba of the Philadelphia Orchestra, will be in residency next week at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. We hope that those of you in the South Texas area can join us for one of these events!

Residency Schedule

Tuesday, March 26:

Master Class – 12:30 to 2:00PM in Bellamah Recital Hall
Solo Recital – 6:30 to 8:00PM in Bellamah Recital Hall

Reflections on the Mississippi by Michael Daugherty
The Joys of Tearing Paper by Matthew Clevenger
Concertpiece No. 2 by Vassily Brandt
Adagio from The Limpid Stream by Dmitri Shostakovich
Tango Etudes by Astor Piazzolla


Wednesday, March 27:

Featured soloist with TAMUK Wind Symphony – 8:00 to 9:30PM in Jones Auditorium

Program to include:

Concerto for Tuba by Bruce Broughton
Carnival of Venice by Jean-Baptiste Arban
Oblivion by Astor Piazzolla

Thursday, March 28:

Soloist in Celebration of Women Composers Concert (in recognition of Women’s History Month) – 8PM at Kingsville Music Club

Carol will be playing Sweet Dances by Elizabeth Raum

The master class, solo recital, and Wind Symphony concert will take place on the campus of Texas A&M University-Kingsville, and all events are free and open to the public. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear a world-class musician in a rare visit to South Texas!
