Kimmel Center, Restaurant Recommendation

Post by hup_d_dup »

I'm meeting friends from W. Virginia for a concert of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Looking for a good restaurant. Previously we dinned at McCormick & Schmick's and were disappointed (have eaten at many other M & S's throughout the country ... it's a good chain, the one in Phili is the only one I don't like!).

Can someone give me a personal recommendation for a nice restaurant within walking distance of the Kimmel Center? Thanks.

"Nice", by center city standards also includes the word "expensive". Walking distance eliminates much of the excellent bargains in town.
For a truly "nice" restaurant, try this:

Definitely not cheap, but it is good value. Also consider Ruths Chris.Mangia!

Thanks, will try Capital Grill next time, but we already went to Estias - http://www.estiarestaurant.com" target="_blank. Very nice, I would recommend for anyone else. Very impressive dining rooms.

We saw the Prokofiev 5th from the first tier behind the orchestra, right above the brass section. Carol Jantsch is beautiful in every way. All-in-all, a successful evening.
