In the Palais des Festivals, designed by the composer for the execution of his works, the German conductor Christian Thielemann, Wagner recognized perform with the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra and soloists of international renown made an anniversary concert excerpts from operas in concert version given: the first act of The Valkyrie , Prelude and Lovedeath from Tristan and Isolde , the "Journey to the Rhine" and "Funeral March" from Götterdämmerung and the prelude to Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg .
