Hi all,
I am a trumpet player who bought a sousaphone as a side hobby.
I LOVE New Orleans music.
I have no interest in classical or marching band music.
I play recreationally only, and at home.
I am looking for any and all music that is suited for a sousaphone that is ANY BETTER than the normal method books that make you play HOT CROSS BUNS and JINGLE BELLS.
I have the Alfred Essential Elements method books and i hate them.
Any ideas???????? Funk, NOLA trad jazz, dixieland, etc.....that are suited for beginners.
There is very little i can find that fits these categories and are for beginners.
HELP, Sousaphone music for beginners......

I know it's a little early. But... pick up a Merry TubaChristmas book. It's not difficult music and you will be prepared for 'The Season'. You can buy it on-line. http://www.tubachristmas.com/order.pdf
