I have one just like that. The long leadpipe makes it easier than usual to play comfortably. It is a pretty great BBb sousaphone, and I would never cut it to a CC.
By the way, I have a "cut" CC sousaphone. It plays well, too, but having a sousaphone pitched in CC does not seem to matter much. Played in parades or small jazz bands, it just sounds like another tuba, and does not seem to benefit much from its CC pitch. Usually, I find CC tubas to sound cleaner and more centered than BBbs. Not so with the CC sousaphone, which I still enjoy anyway.

If I am not mistaken, the CC sousaphone you are referring to is the one you bought from me. If I remember correctly, I actually started with an Eb 4 valve King and extended it with loop from an American Standard. It turned out pretty decent. The loop actually ended up fitting pretty nicely with the 4th valve tubing. I thought it almost looked factory. Glad to hear you still have it.

Hi Gus!
I do still have it, and I like it a lot. And you are right--it looks almost factory. You did a great job with that horn!

I would have liked to bid on it but it clearly states "U.S bidders only".
I find that ironic because his EBay name is "wanting to sell elsewhere"!
