The only good gig bag is a hard case.

There have been numerous discussions going back. I would direct you here:

I bought a gig bag from Glenn Cronkhite in 2011. It is really well made. It's well padded, fits perfectly (as it should, being custom and all), and has virtually no signs of wear, despite my using it very often.

It wasn't cheap - a shade over $400 for the sturdy nylon - but it will hopefully be the last gig bag I ever buy - or at least, the last for 20+ years.

I wanted brown leather accents on the green bag, and he was perfectly happy to accommodate my request (it's a great combo, by the way).

I used to own a non-custom-fitted gig bag, and that was a mistake. The horn slid around, it was harder to to carry - and generally it was a source of great frustration.

I also used to own a ginormous MTS1209 hard case, and in addition to taking up approximately 2/3rds of my apartment, it always wanted to tip over when I used the wheels.

Glenn's bag is the keeper.
