Hi all,
Where can I get replacement valve guides for my MW 2250? I currently have nylon guides, but do they also make metal guides? What are the pros and cons to switching to metal guides if that is an option?
Thanks for any input,
Steve

I'm sure there is a metal valve guide out there. But... if your plastic guides are wearing out too quickly you might want to have someone have a look at the guide slots. Many left the factory with the finish on the slots less than spectacular. The can be cleaned up.

Re: Meinl Weston valve guides
Hello SC:
Yes there are nylon and metal guides. We have a lot of nylon in stock, and I have seen metal ones shipped as an accessory with the Baer (6450) tubas. In my opinion, the plastic are quieter and should last a long time IF (and I have seen this before) people are reasonable about taking their valves in and out with minimal force. I would rather have the valve guide wear rather than the slot for the valve guide (bigger problem)
I hope this helps! T.
