There is a link on a recent post (I couldn't find it in the 45 seconds I took just now) to a Schilke article that speaks to nodes and pressure points in a tube. His example - "open a water key and one note will disappear, another will drop by a half step and most others will be unaffected." Or something like that. So - and I'm just spitballing here - maybe there is a hole somewhere, or a joint that has come loose. Did this just happen, or is it something you noticed right off?

Just grab the "Tuba 1" book at tubaxmas, and you should be fine.

Shot in the dark: Has the entire bugle, tuning slide to bell collar, been examined/snaked/scoped? Otherwise, an invisible leak seems the most likely culprit.

Look identical on my 1240, too. I don't remember the date off hand, '60s at the oldest.

Maybe there are MAW valves for it? If you don't mind spending on the upgrade it could save a lot of time and effort.

$1360 still seems fine to me, that will be a nice playing horn when it's back in shape.
