The above instructions need one more item:
Move the mouthpiece up or down off your preferred embouchure so one lip or the other effectively flaps the mouthpiece.
Make sure the beans are consumed in volume so when you have a glitch in the circular breathing they will take up the slack and there is no gap in the sound effect.

It's all about finding that embouchure/air/firm corners combination that vibrates easily.

LOL!!! Only if you have the special hyper-adjustable mouthpiece, that adjusts not only cup depth, but rim diameter and contour as well.bloke wrote:...so - when tuba players refer to "Jake" - this is what they're all talking about...yes...??

I remember in one of my juries, the faculty would cook some amazing food. The piece I played had a few pedal Bb's. The horn professor seemed astounded throughout the piece. When I was done playing, the trombone/euphonium professor said, "man, all those low notes made me want another piece of pie!" I've always taken it as a compliment....

I like how you just don't turn the device "on" it goes directly to "hi!!"

I am thinking of a large multichambered mouthpiece, with flapping spring steel tongues, and a slider to bring them closer or further apart...

Hey! I resemble that remark! I actually had better dynamic control over some of the older sousaphones I have played than over some new tubas that don't resonate well at any dynamic.Three Valves wrote:Ah, thanks for that clarification.
