This album was recorded by The Concordia Orchestra conducted by Marin Alsop.
Was/is "The Concordia Orchestra" a real entity or just a name for a group of studio musicians who recorded a few CDs? Where were/are they based?
In any event, the miking/playing of the tuba is very clean in this recording. Who was the player?
Thanks.

Looks like they've disbanded.

I'm glad you heard this! I played on that album with Dean Plank on bass-trombone. It was a really fine orchestra that came together via Marin Alsop. It was her training outlet orchestra for those years. It consisted of some really fine NYC freelancers; Jim Pugh, Ed Neumeister, Chris Gekker, many others. It's got some fun low brass stuff on it. Unfortunately that orchestra doesn't exist any more. But I'm glad it was recorded!
