WTB Sousaphone stand

Post by tubamat487 »

Looking for a sousaphone stand, mostly for storage purposes. I'm open to options so if you have anything you're willing to part with, please send me a pm.

Thanks!

No, I've got a 1950 26K and my wife is tired of stubbing her toes. A Hercules stand would be great if anyone has one

I don't see them listed on your site. Can you provide a link?

I've seen them online for cheap, I'd just prefer to reuse if possible. I'll probably look for a few weeks and if nothing comes up, I'll order a Hercules through a local shop

In the mid 70's in jr high and high school, we had sousaphone stands which were great for playing while sitting. You turned the neck/mouthpiece to the left of the sousa body and you reached around with the right hand to reach the valves, this while sitting in a regular chair position at the left of the tuba. Do these stands exist anymore ? I remember them as being really sturdy. I used them for concert band, honor band auditions, solo/ensemble festivals ?
