why not order one and have them gold plate it for you before they send it to you..I doubt very much that you will find one in stock already gold plated. If you like it that much, can't hurt to have two of them. One as a backup.

Why not buy a brand stinkin' new Back 7 in silverplate and have it gold plated? That'd save you money on "restoration" and prep work (go right from the unopened box to the plater) and give you a nice clean mouthpiece in exchange.Grooving for Heaven wrote:I talk to Dillons, and they told me it would be $40 for the gold plating, but first $30 for the coat of silver, not to mention an hourly fee for "restoration"
I'm not prepared to send it off if I don't have a clue how much it will cost up front. Andersons gave me a quote of $60 to $75 for the same job, so if I do it, I'm sending it to them.
Also, check these folks out--they not only sell mouthpieces, but have an in-house plating service:

For a new Bach 7 in silverplate, they're asking about $53 + $40 to gold plate the whole shebang or $30 for just the cup and rim in gold. They've also got some nifty finish options, like satin gold or satin silver.
