Re: Long Island CL: "Kaiser" Tuba
Behind the times and it's the seller's fault for not making all options of contact available. I was not available to call at the time at work. Modern age of communication, get with it or get left in the dust. I'd rather have called though.
Re: Long Island CL: "Kaiser" TubaHi-
I just called the number. Spoke to a very nice older gentleman who due to age/health, can't continue to play the tuba. It is his horn. Horn does indeed play AND it is still available!! If I lived close to NYC, I would go over and get it! Good luck! Mark
Re: Long Island CL: "Kaiser" Tuba
If I were interested (and I'm not), and assuming it's in good playing condition, I would offer him more than his asking price. B&S GR-41

Re: Long Island CL: "Kaiser" Tuba
Last time I saw a horn like that and referred a Tubenetter to it (here locally) I saw it up on Ebay for twice the price. ![]()
Re: Long Island CL: "Kaiser" TubaWould probably be a killer horn for 1000. Drop 500 with Matt Walters to service/tweak.

But if you call Matt in July with a big project like this, be prepared to WAIT! ![]() B&S GR-41

Re: Long Island CL: "Kaiser" TubaReceived tuba today. Got some damage in transport but it plays amazing! I'm not your pro player, just easy Dixieland and oompah type of playing but I haven't played anything that's so free blowing and slots so easy. Engraving states: Kalashen's Kaiser Model New York 1940. Assuming that's serial number that should placed it before 1905. Not sure where this website takes its estimates but that's where I got serial and years estimates: http://simonettitubacollection.com/instruments-listed-by-manufacturer/manufacturer-l-r/kalashen/
Re: Long Island CL: "Kaiser" TubaYeah! Congrats on this cool find! I had wondered who ended up with it.

Re: Long Island CL: "Kaiser" TubaThank you to OP who always finds something cool, it's usually out if my reach but since this one was so cheap I decided to take a risk and buy it unseen.
Who's the maker of this one? Cerveny, B&F?
Re: Long Island CL: "Kaiser" TubaCongrats!
How tall is it and how wide is the bell?
Re: Long Island CL: "Kaiser" Tuba
41" tall and 18" bell.
Re: Long Island CL: "Kaiser" Tuba
