Best daily use case with wheels

Hello all,
So as some here know I'm having some major back issues. As I prepare for surgery this coming Monday I've been thinking about cases for my tubas. I'm pretty sure that gig bags are out of the question for me now. With that said, I'm looking at cases that have wheels that would be practical for daily use. A few different options are...

An MTS style hard case

Those wheeled soft cases (I forget the company)

An accord flight case

I would like to hear opinions from people here about what case they would use. It needs to have wheels and it needs to be practical for daily use so those giant Walt Johnson cases and the MW flight cases are out. Any opinion is welcomed here.

Ha, I had two when I was supposed to have one. And I'm gonna have to have another in 6-12 months if that gives you any idea on how it went. But still interested in wheeled gig bags.

Unless the wheels are a certain distance apart, wheels seem just about useless, and - at least to me - "bag" and "case" mean two different things...

...thus, I'd have to vote for the non-sexy completely-out-of-vogue Tolex-over-wood GWW cases with aftermarket wheels.

That was something I was looking at but was seeing if there was a lighter option. I know I'm going to get better but I'm currently at a 5 pound max for lifting. Dragging a case around won't be too bad, it's lifting it out of the car and over stairs that I am concerned about. I may have to go with the accord case or have something made but just seeing what else is out there. Most of my horns are gonna be getzen G50 size save for my nirschl 6/4. I have an MTS case for that but that is pretty hard to drive around even when I have a complete spine.

Post a listing for an Intern. It's amazing what people will do for free "for experience". With the number of performance majors the colleges crank out every year there should be a large crowd to choose from. Most internships seem to be 95% grunt work so hauling a tuba case around would seem to qualify.

Seriously -good luck with your recovery. Been there and would advise to avoid overdoing it to early. It's easy to jump the gun and start doing far more than you should.

A 5 pound limit sounds to me like 2016 is a good year for you to write some method books or concertos or something while you get your strength back.

I had back surgery, it took a year or so regain the strength lost during the illness. I had some PT but also enjoyed doing water exercise classes to supplement the process. Be patient, good luck.
