Marzan Gig bag

Post by Tubaryan12 »

To all that have played or own a Marzan:

If you have a case or bag for the horn what type is it? I bought a ProTec bag thinking it would fit. It does but not well (the horn is shorter than the bag and the shape of the horn is more like a "V" and is a little too wide at the top bow area). I would like something that is also side loading. Any suggestions?

Reunion Blues, (or better yet- Cronkhite Bags, made by the guy who started RB) makes a side loading bag that will fit this horn perfectly. The bag that came with my 2145 was from them, and it was a little big but fit my schools Marzan perfectly when I put it in there. Just take a few measurments and give these guys a call for a Cronkhite bag. http://www.steveferguson.net/
Or, if you change your mind and decide you want a top loader (I prefer them) you can always have Donna Alteri make you a bag as well, Lee Stofer is an Alteri dealer.

What I wish I could get is a soft case like my daughter has for her viola - stiff form fitting foam covered in nylon with a zippered closure.
