Meinl Weston 4450 F

I am a second year masters student looking to sell my Meinl Weston 4450 F tuba. I like this tuba very, very much and will miss it. The reason for sale is because I am picky and want something that feels similar to my PT-6. As such, I will be purchasing a pt-15 soon to compliment my other horn.

The 4450 is not even 3 years old, and is in near-new condition... only a couple of very minor scratches and a couple very small dents. This is a 6/4 size F tuba that feels more open than any other F tuba I have played - including the miraphone petroushka. It easily produces an enormous sound for an F tuba that I have found works very well in ensembles. The low register is especially fun and easy, as is to be expected on any large meinl weston horn. This horn has 5 valves, with a custom modified 5th valve to work like a typical modern flat whole step 5th valve should - it was not originally designed to do this for some reason, requiring different fingerings in the low register than what is typically or traditionally used.

This horn has 5 valves, with a custom modified 5th valve to work like a traditional 5th valve should - it was not designed to do this for some reason, requiring different fingerings in the low register than what are typically used - now it uses typical 5th valve fingerings.

Traditional? Typical?

None of those words tell what you are trying to say, which is whether the fifth valve is flat-whole step (typical for today), or major-third (traditional).

Since I live 20 minutes from Kent, I went and played this horn just out of curiosity. Plays pretty easily, and the sound is very good. Intonation is very easy to manage. If you're looking for an ensemble F, or a quintet tuba, this would be a great choice.
