La Sete Eb is a Kruspe?

OK, the origin of La Set Tuba's has been discussed before, with some thought that they are a Keilworth stencil sold in California Music Stores

I recently bought the Eb posted here and am a bit obsessive. I've noticed that the La Sete has great similarity with Kruspe horns.


The dates do not necessarily align, Kruspe tubas are generally pre-WWII. But per Horn-U-Copuia the shop was limping with one craftsman from 1956-1973

But maybe a pile of leftover Kruspe parts were utilized when building La Sete tubas.

The horn is off gettng a cleaning and some stuck slides pulled. But it seemed to play well.

Rethinking this, the "made in Germany" stamp throws me off.

It probably is an early Eb Amati Kraslice, built when Keilworth was part of the "Amati Collective" and sold as a La Sete. Keilworth farmed out manufacturing all over the place. http://marge.home.xs4all.nl/Keilwerth.htm" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank
